Welcome to the first installment of “Guess Which Fantasy Basketball Player That Is.” Many analysts and fantasy basketball enthusiasts immerse themselves in season statistics, totals, and rankings. Fantasy basketball is a game of streaks and consistency, where players who can shine during the latter part of the season or maintain consistent performance on a week-to-week basis are highly valued treasures. In this series, I will present two data plots, each covering at least one category in the standard 9-category Head-to-Head (H2H) format. The categories for this inaugural installment are FT% (Free Throw Percentage) and Assists for the 2022-2023 Season.

Consistency: I observed that the player in question fell below an 80% free throw (FT) shooting percentage in 9 out of the 24 weeks. There appears to be a pattern, with 5 of those weeks occurring between Week 5 and Week 9, and another 3 between Week 18 and Week 21 (specifically, in Week 5, Week 7, Week 8, Week 9, Week 13, Week 14, Week 18, Week 19, and Week 21). Over the course of the season, this individual maintained an FT shooting percentage of 82.2%. Statistics is so fun, with enough variance you can shoot over 100%? perfecto! Can you guess who this player is?

I see you need more help, but have no fear. Above, you are provided with a similar plot for assists. There’s still a decent amount of variance, but it’s a counting stat, and the league average is around 4 assists! I’m looking at you, Michael Porter Jr. Pass the damn ball!
