Back in February, the playoff picture for the No Bums Dynasty League was still taking shape, and we published a preview titled “No Bums Dynasty League: The Final Stretch Before the Playoffs” that spotlighted emerging contenders, sleeper teams, and which squads needed a strong finish. Now, with the postseason in the books, we return with a full recap of how it all unfolded and the crowning of the 2025 champion: Speedsters.
🏆 The Champions: Speedsters Finish What They Started
The Speedsters came into the postseason as the No. 1 seed after dominating the regular season with a 106-55-1 record. Consistent, deep, and tactical, they rolled into the playoffs with a chip on their shoulder, and they didn’t disappoint. Their path to the title was a perfect 3-0 playoff run:
- Quarterfinals: Narrowly edged out the No. 8-seeded Jimmy Butlers, 5-4. It was a wake-up call that sharpened the squad.
- Semifinals: Blew past Gamma Squad with a commanding 7-2 victory.
- Finals: Capped it all with a 6-3 win over Sub-0 J.
In the finals, Speedsters leaned into their strengths and produced a well-rounded attack that proved too much for their opponent. Here’s how the categories broke down:
| Stat Category | Speedsters | Sub-0 J |
|---|---|---|
| FG% | .506 | .482 |
| FT% | .835 | .814 |
| 3PT Made | 104 | 72 |
| Points | 716 | 620 |
| Rebounds | 250 | 220 |
| Assists | 133 | 136 |
| Steals | 46 | 32 |
| Blocks | 71 | 47 |
| Turnovers (fewest wins) | 6 | 3 |
Speedsters dominated in 3PTs, FG%, PTS, REB, STL, and BLK, securing 6 of 9 categories and clinching the title with authority.
❄️ Sub-0 J: A Worthy Finalist Hampered by Injuries
Sub-0 J, managed by Killa, entered the playoffs as the No. 2 seed and put together a phenomenal postseason run. They dispatched Da Bum Tiss 7-2 in the quarterfinals, then absolutely crushed Legendary 8-1 in the semifinals. Headed into the championship round, they looked like the most dangerous team in the bracket.
However, Sub-0 J was forced to compete in the finals without three of their star players:
- Tyrese Maxey (INJ)
- Damian Lillard (INJ)
- Bilal Coulibaly (INJ)
That absence of firepower made a huge difference. Maxey and Lillard alone could’ve swung scoring, free throws, and assists. Without them, Sub-0 J leaned heavily on Jayson Tatum (71 pts, 16 reb, 10 ast) and Devin Vassell (60 pts, 17 reb) to carry the load. They held their own in assists and kept FT% close, but ultimately the production gap was too large.
Despite the loss, Sub-0 J’s season was a massive success and puts them firmly in the elite tier going forward. A healthy roster next year and a few savvy offseason moves could easily see them return to the finals.
🥇 Legendary Takes Third After Strong Bounce Back
Legendary, the No. 3 seed, started the playoffs with a 7-2 win over Hart of New York but ran into a buzzsaw in the semifinals against Sub-0 J, losing 1-8. Still, they bounced back in the 3rd place game with a solid 6-3 win over Gamma Squad, showing off their depth and consistency.
This squad had the pieces to make a deeper run and will no doubt use this finish as motivation for next season. They remain one of the most balanced teams in the league and will be a threat again.
🌎 A Look Back at the Predictions
In our February article, we spotlighted the Speedsters and Sub-0 J as potential title contenders. That prediction aged well, as both teams stormed to the finals. Speedsters finished the job, while Sub-0 J ran out of luck with injuries.
Gamma Squad, who made it to the semis, had a strong showing but were ultimately outgunned by the top tier. And while Jimmy Butlers and Hart of New York exited in the first round, both showed signs of growth that could pay off next season.
⚡️ Final Thoughts
The 2025 No Bums Dynasty League season had everything: rising stars, veteran resilience, clutch playoff heroics, and the heartbreak of untimely injuries. It also confirmed what we had suspected all season long — the Speedsters were built for this.
Their mix of elite shooting, smart roster management, and defensive strength carried them to a title no one can argue with. Sub-0 J may have come up short, but they made the finals a true battle and are positioned to be contenders for years to come.
Now, as the offseason begins and the draft board starts to take shape, one question looms large: who’s coming for the throne next?
