Guns N Buns announced today that the team has acquired forward John Collins, center Deandre Ayton, the No. 9 overall pick in the 2025 Rookie Draft, and a 2026 first-round pick from Spike Lee’s Diary in exchange for Karl-Anthony Towns and Bennedict Mathurin.

“This was a long-term strategic move for our franchise,” said a spokesperson for Guns N Buns. “We’re adding two starting-caliber bigs with room to grow and securing multiple valuable draft assets as we continue to build our core.”

Ayton, 26, averaged 16.7 points and 10.4 rebounds across 71 games last season, maintaining a strong presence in both field goal percentage and rebounding categories. Collins, 27, adds a stretch-four profile with career averages of 15.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game. Together, they offer Guns N Buns both versatility and durability in the frontcourt.

The No. 9 pick in this year’s draft gives the franchise the chance to add an impact rookie, while the 2026 first-rounder provides a key future asset for continued development.

Spike Lee’s Diary, meanwhile, acquires a franchise centerpiece in Karl-Anthony Towns, one of the league’s premier big men, along with rising wing Bennedict Mathurin, known for his scoring instincts and downhill aggression.

“We’re thrilled to bring KAT and Mathurin into the fold,” a team rep from Spike Lee’s Diary commented. “This move gives us a legitimate superstar in the frontcourt and a young scorer who fits our long-term vision.”

Towns, a multiple-time All-Star, averaged 21.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 2.1 threes per game last season. Mathurin posted 14.5 points per game in just his second year, with upside as a long-term starter on the wing.

This blockbuster deal reshapes the trajectory for both teams — one aiming to climb into immediate contention, the other fortifying its foundation for years to come.

Trade Approved.
