League Overview
The Association is a competitive fantasy basketball league featuring 16 teams using a dynasty-keeper format.
Scoring
- Field Goal Percentage (FG%)
- Free Throw Percentage (FT%)
- 3-point Shots Made (3PTM)
- Points Scored (PTS)
- Total Rebounds (REB)
- Assists (AST)
- Steals (ST)
- Blocked Shots (BLK)
- Turnovers (TO)
Playoffs
- Teams: 8 teams qualify.
- Schedule: Last 3 weeks of the NBA season (Weeks 20–22).
- Roster Locks: For non-playoff and eliminated teams.
Prize Money
- Champion: 70% of the pot + Luxury Tax funds.
- Regular Season Winner: 20% of the pot.
- Runner-up: 10% of the pot.
League Dues
Annual dues are $25, payable via PayPal or Zelle at dane.a.dell@gmail.com.
Team Management
- Roster Size: 12 players.
- Starting Lineups (8 players):
- C, PF, F, SF, SG, PG, G, Util
- Bench Positions: 4 inactive players.
Auction Drafts
The inaugural draft (2013–14) set initial player values. Current salary cap: $329 (Season 10, 2023–24).
Weekly Lineups
- Deadline: Mondays before the first game.
- Waivers: Processed on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays using the FAAB system.
Player Values
- Players retain their draft value unless waived or traded.
- Rookies: Initially valued at $1, with increases based on the salary inflation formula.
Luxury Tax
Teams exceeding the salary cap are taxed 10% per $1 over the cap. Hard cap: 21% above the salary cap.
Player Salary Inflation
Salaries increase based on end-of-season rankings. Detailed inflation formula provided annually.
Keeper Rules
Teams declare a minimum of 4 keepers before the auction draft. Maximum of 12 players can be retained under certain conditions.
Bird Rights
Allows teams to exceed the salary cap for players kept 4 consecutive seasons. Teams must adhere to luxury tax and hard cap rules.
Rookie Drafts & Lottery
Conducted offline in a snake-draft format. Lottery system mirrors the NBA for draft order.
Branding Policy
Team Names: Must follow the format “City ‘Nickname’” (e.g., Neverland Lostboyz). Teams should upload a custom icon to represent their brand.
Anti-Tanking Policy
Managers must start their top-ranked players. Tanking penalties range from fines to loss of rookie picks.
League Communication
Join the league’s Discord channel and stay updated. Email updates are sent from universityoffantasybasketball@gmail.com.
Governance
Commissioners enforce rules and review transactions. Grievances can be reported via email.
